After passionately ranting about leadership, a friend said to Greg, “you need to share this!” That’s all the encouragement Greg needed. From this one conversation, the “Yates in Your Face” (#YIYF for short) video series was born.
As a leader, you can be so busy trying to putting out fires, you don’t have time to create the right culture. The slippery slope of constant overwhelm can lead you down a path of unintended consequences. You can break free though. You can revive your clear thinking again. Sometimes you just need a whack up the side of the head to get there! Greg’s YIYF videos will do just the trick.

In this episode, Greg Yates introduces the concept of YIYF and why it’s needed for leaders.

TRANSCRIPT FROM THE VIDEO:

One day I was ranting to a friend of mine, passionately bursting through the mindset of mediocrity trying to rule the day. I was passionate. I was loud. Right in the middle of it, Bill said, “WHOA!…You need to share this. You could call it, Yates In Your Face…”

We laughed about it, but the idea stuck. The ripple effect of passion is absolutely the breath of leadership and sometimes, just sometimes, we need it to rip us free from the scar tissue of our daily struggle.

We all have those moments when things get clear, sometimes just for a second. Some little crack in the conventions of culture so the light can shine through. We suddenly remember who we are. We remember what makes sense. We grasp for a second the counterintuitive truth that we must have to be the leaders we were created to be.

Nobody is going to unlock your purpose for you. Your passion, your fierce pursuit of the leader you were created to be. That’s on you! Yates in Your Face is a wakeup call, drawing distinctions in areas of life and leadership that must be seen, talked about and debated.

I know what it’s like. You’re so busy putting out fires it’s easy to dilute the power of your leadership trying to maintain the status quo. Don’t settle for political correctness, going with the flow, managing instead of creating trends. You won’t like your destiny if it happens by accident. Sometimes you just need a whack up the side of the head to remind you who you are, who God is and the unlimited future you were created to explore.

Break Free from leadership FATIGUE and the circular logic of survival. Pursue Breakthrough Leadership and have some fun with Yates In Your Face.
