AUDIO: Stop Believing these 5 things and Break Free
If you want to break free, there are 5 things you must STOP believing. Why do we cling so tightly to what we already know instead of pursuing what is yet to be discovered? You know who you are. You know what you’re capable of. Or…so you think.
What if everything you know is preparing you for the unknown?
What if these next steps would flip the paradigm of life and take you where you’ve never been before?
Would you accept it?
Would you be willing to let go of what has been in favor of what you could become?
There’s a comforting sense of well-being when you know what to expect and have a closet full of decisions already made about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness: when you know what makes you happy, sad and exactly what your definitions are for the meaning of life. You’re comfortable being able to debate your answers from a firm footing in life’s tug of war.
I love reading about the great leaders in God’s word. The ones who listened to God actively were led to break in some way from the traditions of their past. Their one-on-one relationship with God wouldn’t allow them to categorically make decisions without breaking free to follow Him in many new ways.
When I think about the early disciples and converts who accepted Jesus, it seems logical to me because that’s part of my belief system. But what did it mean for them? They had to be listening to God directly or it could never have happened. Everything God told them was already set up in His Word but only a few were willing to move from where they had been to a new reality God had prepared for them.
So what does that mean for you?
Does God have new perspectives, new power, new freedom for your life?
The Bible says His mercies are new every day. That you will do even greater things because He has sent His Spirit to live in you.
There are 5 things you must STOP believing if you want the freedom you were created for:
1. STOP believing you have to be in control, understand everything and be able to debate your impervious beliefs.
2. STOP believing in FEAR like fear of failure, insignificance, rejection or being wrong.
3. STOP believing you have to hedge your bets, calculate plan B and prepare your excuses.
4. STOP believing you know your limits, or that you can define your highest created potential.
5. STOP believing you can define the future with the framework of the past.
Believe in your destiny, your future and your created purpose. Reach for the space where freedom takes you where you’ve never been before.
